HOW TO TURN YOUR DAY AROUND

In this lifetime you're going to face people that push your buttons and situations that test your limits. Sometimes these moments won't bother you in the slightest, and other times these moments will really throw you off track. So, what to do?
A couple weeks ago I was really thrown for a loop, I was surrounded by people who rubbed me the wrong way and I couldn't remove myself from the situation. Moments like these can make it feel like you're having a bad day through and through, but one annoying person or situation shouldn't hold all the power, dictating your mood for the rest of the day. So, here's what works for me, this is what I do to turn my day around:
1. Feel It Out
Let yourself be annoyed, angry, pissed off, whatever it may be. Allow yourself to have a moment to vent and release those pent-up feelings (you definitely don't want that hanging around in your head).
2. Interrupt Yourself With Gratitude
Recognize if you've stepped onto the merry-go-round, this is when you're going round and round repeatedly analyzing the person or situation that got you so worked up in the first place. If you've gotten on, get off, by interrupting yourself with gratitude. Determine why you're feeling this particular way (what specific characteristic, trait, attitude made you upset?), then counter that feeling with the people and situations in your life that make you feel happy, fulfilled, and grateful. Once you've brought positivity to the forefront of your mind oftentimes you'll find that there's no room for negative energy you were harbouring earlier.
Maybe this will help, maybe not, but might as well give it a try.
Here's to assholes not ruining our days!
